I'm absolutely delighted to be participating in this exhibition:

 

The Winter Light exhibition will bring together 14 prominent Central Coast and Bay Area California contemporary painters on the walls of Carmel’s newest gallery, Carmel Modern.

 

This show will run from Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, through Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026.

 

Each of the fourteen invited artists were asked to provide three very personal interpretations of Winter in an abstract or Modernist style.

 

What defines the Winter season for you as an artist? The diminishing amount of sunlight you can count on? The dramatic changes you observe in the landscape and the elements? What emotions and expectations do you have around the many winter holiday celebrations? How do you perceive light in December, versus June? Winter light can be more muted, distilled, and filtered. It can also be more brilliant, brittle, precious, and treasured.
